“Hang on in there poor pistachios…!”

The Active Citizens of Aegina, under the auspices of the Municpality of Aegina and with the participation of the Pistacho Producer’s Cooperative, organised and hosted a conference aimed at saving and enhancing pistachio production on the island. Lectures on modern methods of promotion were given by the managing director of the Masticha Shop, a representative we had invited from Sicily talked about the Sicilian Bronte pistachio festival and analysed the nut’s nutritional value and discussed organic pistachio farming, along with the idea of involving the arts in the festival. The conference had all the elements which characterised the Fistiki Fest in the following year.
